Tom Hunton
President & CEO
Mr. Hunton is president and CEO of American Capital Energy. As a founding members of ACE, Hunton is an executive skilled at launching and growing businesses, products, markets, supply/distribution chains and business systems. He is also highly involved in the daily business operations of the company. Under Mr. Hunton’s direction, the organization has been profitable since its founding in 2005 and has become leader in the utility-scale photovoltaic market. Prior to ACE, Mr. Hunton was the head of sales and marketing at SCHOTT Solar, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of solar wafers, cells and modules. Prior to SCHOTT Solar, Mr. Hunton was the marketing director Green Mountain Energy Company, a start-up that quickly became the nation’s leading retailer of renewable energy. While there, he developed marketing and sales capabilities and was involved in numerous commercial solar projects through an extensive partner network. Mr. Hunton holds a B.S. from the University of Vermont and an MSA from Saint Michael’s College. Mr. Hunton lives in Lyme, New Hampshire with his wife, Shannon and their three children.
Art Hennessey
Chief Financial Officer
In September of 2004 Art, along with Tom Hunton, started American Capital Energy with the vision of becoming one of America’s leading solar integration companies. Over the past six years ACE has grown from a small start-up firm with an idea, into one of the largest commercial integrators in the United States. Art has extensive experience in top financial positions at leading high-tech, high growth companies such as Computer Vision and Data General. Prior to starting American Capital Energy, Art served as the controller for Schott Solar in Billerica, MA, U.S.A. where his strategic financial advice and decisions helped grow the company to be one of the top five PV module manufacturers when he left. Prior to that, he was controller for Anheuser Busch’s Northeast Region. Earlier, as CFO for George W. Moore, Inc., he and a small team turned the company around and re-sold it. Art had his start in finance at Coopers & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers). Art is a graduate of Boston College. Art is a decorated Viet Nam War Veteran. He has four children and currently lives in Massachusetts.
Tom Anderson
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Anderson is American Capital Energy’s chief operating officer. Previously, he served as ACE’s Director of Southwest Business Operations. Mr. Anderson has worked for 19 years in the environmental field, providing project and program management consulting services in the areas of environmental compliance, characterization and remediation services to the U.S. Department of Energy, the Department of Defense and industrial clients. Prior to joining ACE, Mr. Anderson served as managing director of the environmental science and engineering directorate of Qinetiq North America in Los Alamos, New Mexico, and a senior environmental scientist at Concurrent Technologies Corp. He earned his B.S. in Geology from Denison University and his M.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering from Colorado School of Mines.
Dr. Juris Kalejs, PhD
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. Kalejs is the chief technology officer at American Capital Energy. In his role at ACE Mr. Kalejs ensures that the company is employing the most efficient and effective solar technologies and installation techniques for its clients. Mr. Kalejs has more than 30 years of experience in new PV industry technology development, which includes R&D, manufacturing, and marketing. He has held positions that include a research scientist, project leader, VP of engineering and chief scientific officer for now-established international industry leaders He had multiple successes in proposal acceptance and funding procurements from U.S. government agencies. In the past, he has secured $15 million of funding for company R&D from U.S. DOE (NREL) and U.S. Department of Commerce (ATP/NIST) program competitions. Mr. Kalejs has also been a contributing author to over 100 scientific journal articles and book chapters, an invited scientific conference speaker, a member of both national and international programs and organizing committees for professional society meetings, and is the holder of SIX patents. Mr. Kalejs holds a PhD in Physics from Brown University. He is a current member of the U.S. Photovoltaic Roadmap Committee.
