What is Solar Power?

Solar power is energy that comes from the Sun. This power has been around as long as the Earth. It wasn’t until recently that we as people decided to harness it. Each day, enough solar energy falls to Earth to power the entire U.S. Economy for 27 years and we’re beginning to tap into this inexhaustible source of renewable energy.

Today, many technologies are available to collect the Sun’s energy efficiently. Due to serious concerns over traditional non-renewable energy sources, more and more people are becoming interested and investing in clean solar energy.
Here are some key features of solar power.

• Solar energy is a completely clean, abundant and free fuel source!

• No waste is created from the usage of solar energy.

• Because the sun shines on all areas of Earth, sometimes it is the most reliable and cost effective energy source available.

• Solar power can be used in both small applications as well as extremely large ones such as commercial buildings and entire cities.

• Sunlight is provided whether we choose to use it or not, unlike many other energy sources, ie: fossil fuels.
